Truck carrying suspected cow meat seized in Rajasthan

Jaipur: A truck which was suspected of carrying 20 tonnes of cow meat was seized by the Police in Alwar, Rajasthan yesterday. This was done following authorities were alerted by cow vigilantes.
The alleged truck was on the move at the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. The vehicle was stopped and the transport documents were checked which said it was carrying buffalo meat.
As per reports, it was suspected that the truck is carrying cow meat and not buffalo meat. The meat was packed in sealed packets weighing between 1 kg and 10 kg and was being transported from Mumbai to Uttar Pradesh.
The truck was stopped while Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari was visiting Alwar to inspect the expressway.

After the vehicles was stopped police called a veterinary officer to examine the meat, the samples have been collected and the result will clear us regarding the meat, whether it is buffalo meat or cow meat.
Investigation is still ongoing and no conclusions have been made yet. If the meat type is different from the document, strict actions will be taken.
Further investigation into this matter is underway.
