Watch: Lady Inspector found dead under mysterious circumstances in Cuttack

Cuttack: Lady Inspector Beauty Mohanty was found dead under suspicious circumstances at her official quarters in Cuttack, following which police started an investigation into the incident.

As per reports, the body of the lady officer was found hanging in the official residence of the Inspector-in-Charge of Chhauliaganj Police Station where she was posted.

On receiving information, police reached the site, seized the body and sent it for autopsy, it is being suspected that she had committed suicide.

However, the exact cause of her death is yet to be known.

Before being posted in Chhauliaganj Police Station, she had also served as the Inspector-in-Charge of the Mahila Police Station and Pahala Police Station.

The death of the senior officer has shocked the department and all possible aspects are being looked into.

A probe is underway to ascertain the cause of death, an officer of senior cadre in the state police department.
