1 dead, 1 critical in two separate road accidents on NH-55 in Odisha

Sambalpur/Anugola: In a tragic incident, a youth was crushed to death when his motorcycle was hit by an unknown vehicle near Betagada Chhak under Luhapank Panchayat of National Highway-55 between Sambalpur and Kataka in Redhakhol.

The deceased could not be identified yet.

As per sources, the youth was riding his Hero Glamour bike when an unidentified vehicle crushed him to death on the spot.

On receiving information, Police rushed to the accident site, recovered the body and begun their investigation.

Meanwhile, in a separate accident on the same highway, the driver of a pickup van sustained grievous injuries after his vehicle crashed into the rear of a trailer near Jindal Chhak under Jarapada police limits on the Anugola-Sambalpur stretch of NH-55.

The mishap was so severe that the front portion of the pickup van was damaged. Even the the trailer truck was also damaged due to the accident

The injured driver of the pickup van was rescued and rushed to the local hospital for treatment.

On being informed, police have reached the spot and initiated an an investigation after seizing both the ill-fated vehicles.
