Bengaluru: Hindustan Aeronautics Limited has filed a criminal complaint against Hyderabad-based aerospace supplier TEC Aero Devices for allegedly submitting 199 forged test reports for components meant for the Light Combat Aircraft Tejas Mk1A programme.

The FIR was registered at HAL police station by the Deputy General Manager, HAL Aircraft Division. It names CEO M. Sivarama Prasad and invokes IPC sections 420, 465 and 468 for cheating and forgery.

According to HAL, 18 purchase orders were issued to TEC Aero Devices between March 2022 and September 2023 for 35 categories of parts totalling 172 items.

During quality checks, HAL sought original reports on tensile strength, hardness, NDT, and salt spray tests. The supplier failed to produce them and later submitted an apology letter admitting two incorrect reports were issued in the name of Axis Inspection Solutions.

An audit in 2023 found Axis Inspection Solutions had not issued any of the 199 reports. HAL debarred the firm for three years. Police are investigating.
