Mohan Majhi’s Delhi Visit Enters Day 2; High-Level Meetings on Odisha’s Development Agenda

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi is in New Delhi for a series of high-level meetings with the Centre as his four-day official visit enters its second day. The discussions are expected to focus on expediting key infrastructure projects, securing central approvals and advancing Odisha’s development priorities.

During his stay in the national capital, Majhi is likely to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi besides holding discussions with several Union ministers and senior central government officials on Odisha’s development agenda. The meetings are expected to be centreed on accelerating the implementation of major projects, reviewing centrally sponsored schemes and pursuing proposals awaiting clearance from the Centre.

The Chief Minister’s engagements are likely to cover a wide range of sectors, including railways, highways, mining, infrastructure, drinking water, rural development and investment. The discussions are aimed at securing greater central support for projects identified as priorities by the Odisha government.

Officials said the visit is part of the state government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen Centre-State coordination and fast-track decisions on key development initiatives. The meetings are also expected to review the progress of ongoing projects while exploring additional assistance for Odisha’s long-term growth plans.

Majhi left Bhubaneswar on Wednesday to begin the four-day visit, which will continue until August 1. According to the Chief Minister’s Office, the tour includes interactions with senior policymakers and Union ministers on issues related to Odisha’s economic development and administrative priorities.

As the visit progresses, attention will remain on the outcomes of the Chief Minister’s engagements in New Delhi, particularly any announcements on central approvals, investment commitments or major initiatives expected to benefit Odisha.
