Brahmapur: To make public transport in Ganjam district more modern, accessible and environmentally friendly, 25 e-buses have been introduced on eight major routes. Transport Minister Bibhuti Bhushan Jena flagged-off the e-bus services from Chhatrapur.
The e-buses will make travel easier to various key locations in the district, including Brahmapur, Chhatrapur, Gopalpur, Sonapur, Taratarini and Hinjili.
While 23 buses will operate in the first phase, an additional 2 buses will be engaged subsequently. Consequently, a total of 25 electric buses will provide passenger services across these routes.
