Kantamal BDO Suspended Over Dereliction of Duty

Kantamal: The Odisha Government has suspended Kantamal Block Development Officer (BDO) Sami Reddy Jayashree over alleged negligence and dereliction of official duties.

The suspension order was issued by the State Revenue and Disaster Management Department on November 6. The officer has been placed under suspension with immediate effect as disciplinary proceedings are set to be initiated against her.

As per the official order, during the suspension period, she will be present at headquarters at the office of the Revenue Divisional Commissioner (Northern Division) in Sambalpur. She will not be allowed to leave the headquarters without prior permission from the competent authority.

Meanwhile, the department has directed the Boudh District Collector to prepare a draft charge sheet against the suspended officer, along with relevant supporting documents and evidence, and submit it to the government.

The suspension comes ahead of formal disciplinary proceedings over the alleged lapses in the discharge of her official responsibilities.
