Keonjhar love affair murder: Woman’s skeleton recovered from forest a month after killing

Joda: A sensational murder case of a woman linked to a love affair has been exposed in Badbil area of Keonjhar district. The victim’s skeleton was recovered from beneath the earth after almost a month of her death.

As per reports, the victim identified as Anita of Jhadgaon village under Badbil limits was allegedly murdered by her boyfriend Sangram Alada.

According to the complaint, Sangram had lured Anita into the Roida forest and slit her throat using a sharp weapon and left the body in the forest and returned back to the village.

Anita’s family had lodged a complaint of missing person with Badbil police station after failed searches to trace her on 15th of last month. While lodging the missing complaint the family had told the police that Sangram might be involved in the disappearance of Anita but they advised the family to search further for Anita.

Later, again on 6th of this month her family had submitted a written complaint at Badbil PS accusing Sangram of having murdered Anita. Subsequently police had picked up Sangram for questioning. During interrogation it is stated Sangram had confessed to the crime.

According to sources police have recovered Anita’s mobile phone and checked the CDR. Anita was last seen talking to Sangram over phone for 24 minutes prior to her disappearance and police stated that the duo had a romantic relationship.

During interrogation Sangram has admitted of killing Anita stating that an argument had started when Anita posed for a photograph with another young man. In a fit of rage Sangram had allegedly stabbed her with a sharp weapon and had buried the body in a pit within the forest, thereafter covering the body with leaves and branches to hide it from view.

Based on his statement, Badbil police had brought Sangram to the spot in the forest and had reenacted the scene of the crime. The incident has caused great shock and concern in the area.
