24-year-old arrested with 38 grams of brown sugar in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The Excise Officials in Bhubaneswar today arrested a 24-year-old youth after recovering 38 grams of brown sugar in the VSS Nagar area of the state Capital City.

Acting on a tip-off, a special team of Excise Officials conducted a raid near the VSS Nagar Level Crossings and nabbed the youth whom they identified as Bijay Mahal of Chakeisaini.

Apart from recovering 38 grams of brown sugar, the Excise Officials also seized a scooty (OD34L2826) from his possessions. They also launched an investigation to find out who else are involved in the ongoing drug trafficking racket in the state Capital City.

The market value of the seized brown sugar is estimated to be in lakhs of rupees, said sources adding that the Excise Department has intensified its investigation to find the root cause of the drug trafficking.
