Tata Trusts begin search for new Tata Sons chairman

Mumbai: Tata Trusts have decided to initiate the search process to find their nominee for the post of chairman of Tata Sons since N Chandrasekaran has decided not to renew his term.
The Trust nominee directors to Tata Sons were informed about the decision through an email sent on August 12. Chandrasekaran’s tenure is scheduled to end in February 2027.
The Sir Dorabji Tata Trust had passed a resolution for the formation of a selection committee which would be headed by the Trust to find candidates for the new chairman of the board of Tata Sons.

Tata Trusts expressed their respect for Chandrasekaran’s decision and complimented him on his successful tenure with the group.
The Trust further stated that they would work in tandem with Tata Sons to ensure a smooth transfer of leadership.
The entire selection process is expected to gather pace from here onwards, with the Trusts expected to finalize the successor for Chandrasekaran before his term ends in February next year.
