Temple thieves strike again in Puri, silver ornaments and donation money stolen

Puri: Silver jewellery, brass utensils and cash looted from Sri Sri Hari Sahadeva Temple in Astaranga of Odisha’s Puri district.

As per reports, the robbers forced their entry into the temple looted valuables including a number of ornaments of the deity and cash after breaking open the temple hundi.

Local devotees of the place woke up to the shocking incident and informed the police personnel and others.

However, no security arrangement was in place at the place of worship.

Meanwhile, many locals raised concerns that repeated looting of temples was a reflection of the deteriorating security situation, leading to apprehension among devotees.

Police are conducting an investigation into the matter and looking for leads to capture the thieves.
