Class Ten girl student injured allegedly after being beaten up by teacher

Soro: At a time when the shocking incident of the death of a six-year-old LKG student at a school in Visakhapatnam after being slapped by his teacher made the headlines, another such incident has come to the fore from Odisha’s Baleswar district today and become a subject of discussion in the area.

According to reports, Sudhakar Sahu, the science teacher of the Mulkaida Nodal Upper Primary School allegedly made the class ten girl student to do sit-ups and pulled her hair before beating her up.

As the minor girl sustained injuries, she was initially admitted at the Anantapur Hospital for treatment and then was shifted to the Baleswar District Headquarter Hospital (DHH) as her condition deteriorated.

On the other, the teacher dismissed the allegation saying that he did not beat the student but asked to do sit-ups as she had not completed her homework. However, she fell sick due to warm condition as there was no electricity and she was admitted at the hospital as her oxygen level had come down, but after the medication, now she is doing well, the teacher informed.

Meanwhile, the family members of the student lodged a complaint seeking action against the teacher. Following this, cops have started a probe into the matter.
