Lucknow Fire: CM Yogi Forms 2-Member SIT, Seeks Report in 7 Days; Orders Strictest Action

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has constituted a two-member Special Investigation Team to probe the recent Lucknow fire incident and directed it to submit its report within seven days. ANI reported in an X post today.
The decision was taken late last night during a high-level meeting chaired by the Chief Minister, following his inspection of the incident site. He also met the families of the deceased at KGMU and inquired about the condition of the injured.
The SIT comprises Amrit Abhijat, Additional Chief Secretary of the Religious Affairs and Tourism/Culture Departments, and Praveen Kumar, Additional Director General of Police, Lucknow Zone.
During the meeting, CM Yogi expressed strong displeasure over the incident and ordered the strictest possible action against those found guilty. He instructed the SIT to conduct a thorough probe and submit its findings within a week.

The Chief Minister’s Office said the SIT was constituted on his direct instructions to ensure accountability and swift action.
Details of the fire incident, including casualties and extent of damage, are awaited in the official report.
The move comes as part of the state government’s immediate response to the tragedy, with emphasis on fixing responsibility and preventing such incidents in the future.
