Dispute over Gundicha temple kitchen hearths sparks police probe ahead of Adapa Bije

Puri: Ahead of Adapa Bije of deities in Puri Sri Gundicha temple, dispute has erupted between two sets of servitors after three hearths in the kitchen were allegedly vandalized.
The development has triggered concern as one of the significant rituals in the Rath Yatra ceremony is approaching.
A complaint filed by servitor Narasingha Mahapatra stated that hearths no 57, 58 and 59 in the temple kitchen were allegedly damaged on July 15th
He claimed that Raghunath Mahapatra along with four others illegally entered the kitchen and demolished them.
Narasingha alleged that on their intervention against demolition by other servitors they were also manhandled and verbally abused, which led to a tussle.

Taking the intervention, accused escaped from the spot.
It is reported that the matter has now reached Kumbharpada Police Station and a case has been registered and the same has been inquired.
The allegations in the complaint are under investigation and no reports have come out from the police till now.
The trio of the chariots is outside of the Gundicha Temple at present and will be carried into the Adapa Mandapa after completion of few procedures.
