Four youths swept away in river while bathing in Keonjhar, one dead, three rescued

Keonjhar: In a tragic incident, a youth died while three others were rescued safely after the four of them swept away while bathing in the Sitariver on Monday.

The incident took place near LaxmiPasi village in Mahoharapur panchayat under Ghatagaon police limits in Odisha’s Keonjhar district.

According to reports, the four youths were bathing in the river when they suddenly got swept away in the strong current of water.

The locals informed the Fire Service Department personnel. With the help of the locals, the personnel of the Fire Service Department managed to rescue three youths safely. However, one youth could not be rescued in time and his dead body was rescued from the river after some time.

The deceased has been identified as Tikei Nayak.
