Dehradun woman, class 12 topper found dead in Uttarakhand, leaves note for parents

Dehradun: A 23-year-old woman, class 12 topper reportedly found dead at her residence in Dehradun, leaves behind a note for parents yesterday morning.

The deceased woman is identified as Riya Kumari Thapa, daughter of 1999 Kargil War veteran.

The incident came to light when her mother went to call her for lunch, but the door was closed from inside. After repeated calls to open the door and come for lunch she didn’t receive any answer. After that father of the woman was called and the door was forcefully opened.

The next thing which Riya’s parents say was her hanging to a fan in her room. A note was recovered from her room which reads a love you message and that no one is the reason behind her ending life decision.

Riya Kumari Thapa was topper in class 12. She secured 97 per cent. Currently she was preparing for National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test UG re-examination that was scheduled for June 21.

As per reports she didn’t clear her NEET examination in first attempt. It is being assumed that she might have ended her life due to lack of success in her studies.

No official statement regarding the reason to kill self has been revealed yet.

Further investigation into this matter is underway.
