Monsoon Turns Active Again in Odisha, Heavy Rain Forecast for Next 5 Days

Bhubaneswar: The monsoon has become more active in Odisha again, bringing heavy rainfall for the next 5 days.
Due to a cyclonic circulation over the Bay of Bengal, heavy rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds are likely across various parts of the state today and tomorrow. The Regional Meteorological Centre has issued a Yellow Alert for 14 districts of North and East Odisha due to a low-pressure system.
The situation is expected to be severe in some districts of North and West Odisha, for which Orange and Yellow Warnings have also been issued.
District-wise Alert:
July 15: Orange Alert for Kandhamal district for heavy to very heavy rainfall

July 16: Orange Alert for Kendrapara and Gajapati districts for heavy to very heavy rainfall
July 15 & 16: Yellow Alert issued for several other districts across the state for rain
The weather department has also forecast humid and uncomfortable conditions along the Odisha coast for the next 2 days.
Rain is likely to continue across the state till July 17.Along the Odisha coast, cloudy weather with winds of 35 to 45 kmph, gusting up to 55 kmph, is expected. Due to this, the sea will remain rough. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea from July 13 to July 17.
Authorities have urged people in the alerted districts to stay cautious.
