Dispute over Bhagavat Tungi construction turns violent in Jajpur, over 12 injured

Jajpur: Over 12 persons were injured as a dispute over construction of a Bhagavat Tungi in Bulakipur village under Jajpur district in Odisha, turned violent Wednesday night.

As per reports, the clash had ensued over the place of construction of the Bhagavat Tungi between two groups, soon leading to a pitched battle.

The reports further added that both sides used bombs and other weapons against each other, vandalizing several vehicles too.

In the clash, over 12 persons including a minor were injured, all of whom were rushed to Jajpur district headquarters hospital.

The three others with critical injuries were shifted to Cuttack, where they are undergoing treatment.

However, situation is very tense in the village hence huge number of police forces have been posted there. The matter is under investigation to find out the actual reason for the clash.
