Woman killed after Mercedes crashes into vehicle

New Delhi: An elderly woman aged 70 was killed when she was run over by a Mercedes-Benz and a WagonR in Delhi’s Mamurpur region of Narela on Saturday morning.

The elderly woman has been identified as Urmila, and her condition was such that the poor woman eventually became wedged between the two cars.

The incident had occurred close to Himalaya Apartments as the woman was reportedly out on her morning walk when the car hit her.

It is believed that the Mercedes crashed into the WagonR and the WagonR hit a parked three-wheeler, resulting in the accident.

This Mercedes car’s driver is Shubham – the son of a sub-inspector in Haryana police, apparently.

The police took him into custody at the spot and started a probe for the cause of this accident.

Eyewitness said that there was a bottle of beer in the Mercedes and the victim’s family alleged that he was speeding and may have been intoxicated.

However, the drunk driving theory would need to be confirmed by the police probe and medical tests.

Police are examining the circumstances of the collision and gathering evidence as part of the investigation.
