USA: He is one of three Indians who have been chosen by Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Warsh to be part of the task forces.

The task force will be headed by renowned economist Raj Chetty, who will co-lead the Data Task Force

Also, Microsoft executive Asha Sharma will serve on the Productivity and Jobs Task Force examining the influence of AI on work and the future job market.

Mr. Rajan will be a member of the Balance Sheet Policy Task Force, which will analyse the Federal Reserve’s approach to its balance sheet and its relation to monetary policy.

The US Federal Reserve is establishing five expert task forces with a mission to revisit fundamental aspects of policymaking

It will have aspects like inflation targeting, policy communications, data compilation, the Fed’s own balance sheet policy, and the impact of AI on jobs and the economy.

Members of the taskforces include top international economists and policy makers from both academia and the private sector.

The taskforces are expected to present their recommendations later this year as part of the central bank’s ongoing effort to update its policymaking.
