JKPSC declares JKAS results - Greater Kashmir
by Syed Rizwan Geelani · Greater KashmirSrinagar, Oct 30: The Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) has declared the result of the Combined Competitive Examinations (CCE)-2023.
As per the selection list issued by JKPSC, Sanjeev Kumar from Jammu has secured the first position, scoring 1089 marks, Iqra Farooq from Srinagar has secured the second position, scoring 1078 marks, and Vasudha Sharma has secured 3rd position scoring 1075 marks.
The JKPSC has issued a list of 71 candidates who have also been called for their medical examination as well.
Srinagar girl Iqra Farooq Bhat who secured 2nd rank in JKAS results passed the exam after three years of preparation.
“I started my preparation in 2021 and this year I passed the exam. I did not opt for any coaching but devised proper strategy and remained focused on achieving my goal,” she said.
Her father, Farooq Ahmad Bhat, said Iqra remained focused on her goal and passed the JKAS exam.
“As parents, we provided her with whatever support we could,” Bhat said.
Iqra said she utilised the internet judiciously and used to get all the required material online.
“Our financial condition was not so good but my parents provided me with all the support. That is how I could pass the exam,” she said.
Iqra said the thought of becoming a civil servant came to her mind when she was pursuing graduation.
“I always wanted to pass the civil service exam and secure such a position where I can serve the public,” she said.
As per the selection notification, the General Administration Department (GAD), in April 2023 referred 75 posts of J&K Combined Competitive Examination-2023 to the J&K Public Service Commission for being filled up through the Combined Competitive Examination.
The posts were advertised by JKPSC on April 13, 2024.
As many as 30,756 candidates were provisionally allowed to appear for the Preliminary Examination.
“The Preliminary Examination was conducted on October 15, 2023, in which 18,882 candidates appeared and as per the criteria fixed by the commission, 2144 candidates were declared to have qualified for the Mains Examination including 77 candidates who were allowed to appear on the directions of the Central Administrative Tribunal,” the notification read.
It read that the J&K Combined Competitive (Mains) Examination, 2023, was conducted from March 26 to April 3, 2024, both at Srinagar and Jammu in which 1296 candidates appeared in all papers.
“As per the criteria fixed by the commission following SRO-103 of 2018 dated February 23, 2018, as amended from time to time, 274 candidates were declared to have qualified for the interview, viva voce, and personality test,” it read.
It read that an additional 11 candidates (petitioners) were also called for interview in pursuance to the court orders and the personality test (interview) of the candidates was conducted from October 21 to October 29, 2024, at the Srinagar office of JKPSC.
Of the 274 candidates, eight did not appear in the interview and the commission in its meeting held on October 29, 2024, decided to declare the result of the candidates who appeared in the interview and also notify their aggregate marks and recommended 71 candidates for medical examination in accordance with the relevant rules.
The PSC notification reads that in pursuance of the provisions contained in SRO-103 of 2018 dated February 23, 2018, read with J&K Public Service Commission (Conduct of Examination) Rules 2022 as well as the decision taken by the commission, the commission notified the result of 266 candidates only who appeared in the interview for the post of Jammu and Kashmir Combined Competitive Examination 2023.
The selected candidates have now been called for the medical examination.
