71th All India Cooperative Week celebrated at Ganderbal - Greater Kashmir
by GK NEWS SERVICE · Greater KashmirGanderbal, Nov 15: To mark the celebrations of 71st All India Cooperative week, an impressive function was organized today by the Department of Cooperatives District Ganderbal at the Town Hall.
The function was presided over by the Additional Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal Gulzar Ahmad, Additional Registrar Cooperative Societies Kashmir, Altaf Ahmad Khan, Joint Registrar Special Kashmir, Bilkees Jan, Joint Registrar Audit Kashmir, Mir Nasrool Hilal Jeri, Deputy Registrar Cooperative Societies Ganderbal, Assistant Director Fisheries Ganderbal, Representatives of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Department, Assistant Registrar Hqr Cooperative Societies Ganderbal ,Assistant Registrar Cooperative Societies Block Lar, members and stakeholders of Cooperative Societies of the district also participated in the said programme.
In his address, the Additional Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal praised the role played by the cooperative sector Ganderbal in serving the general masses.
He stressed the need to organize awareness camps at various levels, so that essence of doing business on a cooperative based economic model is disseminated far and wide.
He also complimented Cooperative Department Ganderbal for organizing an impressive and fruitful programme.
Addressing the gathering, Deputy Registrar Cooperative Societies Ganderbal highlighted the pioneering role played by the cooperative institutions in strengthening the national economy by bridging the rural-urban divide and creating opportunities for income generations.
He stressed upon the need to prepare a workforce that will assume new responsibilities and adopt latest technologies. He laid stress for enrolment of maximum number of educated unemployed youths, women and weaker sections of the society and to bring them in the fold of cooperatives, so that they earn for themselves and become the source of earning for others.
He emphasised for creation of maximum employment avenues by registering a maximum number of FPOs, Cooperative Societies, and Cooperatives in diversified fields, establishing Mini Food processing units in the district.
The Assistant Registrar Hqr Cooperative Societies Ganderbal highlighted the achievements with regard to assigned deliverables. The Joint Registrar Audit Kashmir and Joint Registrar Special Kashmir highlighted the importance of Cooperative Sector.
Similarly, the Additional Registrar Cooperative Societies Kashmir emphasized the importance of interventions of ICT and good governance in the Cooperative sector.
On the occasion, the representative of Multipurpose Cooperative Society Kangan and Baba Mian Nizam U Din Cooperative High School Waliwar highlighting their success stories, the speakers representing elaborated their contribution in serving the community through cooperative sector.
At the end of programme, in recognition of their outstanding contribution in their respective fields, 2 Cooperative institutions were awarded Certificate of Appreciation /Excellence and 3 registration certificates were distributed among newly registered Cooperatives/Societies, by the Additional Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Additional Registrar Cooperative Societies Kashmir and Deputy Registrar Cooperative Societies Ganderbal.
