J&K UTLBC to organise mega facilitation camps in Kupwara, Kathua, Kulgam, Doda
by GK NEWS SERVICE · Greater KashmirSrinagar, Nov 26: As part of the nationwide initiative ‘Aap ki Poonji, Aap Ka Adhikar : Your Money, Your Right’, mega facilitation camps are being organised on November 28 (Friday) in the districts of Kupwara, Kathua, Kulgam and Doda to help citizens trace and reclaim their long-pending financial assets.
The camps are a part of three-month awareness-cum-disbursement campaign launched by the Union Government’s Department of Financial Services (DFS) in coordination with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and financial-sector regulators, said a press release.
The purpose of these camps is to facilitate the settlement of unclaimed bank deposits, dormant insurance amounts, inactive mutual funds and dividend proceeds, unclaimed shares, and other unclaimed or inactive financial assets held across various financial institutions. The nationwide campaign aims to ensure that every rupee saved by citizens can be rightfully claimed by them or by their legal heirs and nominees.
The Kupwara camp will be held at MC Town Hall, Kupwara at 11:15 am, where MLA Kupwara, District Development Council Chairperson and officials from major banks, insurance companies, PFRDA and government departments are expected to participate and guide the public. In Kathua, the facilitation camp will take place at Tangri Palace at 12 noon, with representatives from RBI, LIC, district administration, banks and SLBC assisting participants and facilitating on-the-spot verification and disbursement wherever applicable.
In Kulgam, the camp will be organised at the Mini Secretariat on November 28 at 11 am, with public representatives including MPs, MLAs, and officials from RBI, district administration, banks, and insurance companies, SEBI, PFRDA and IEPFA expected to attend and support the initiative. Similarly, the camp in Doda will be held at the DC Office, Doda at 3 pm, where public representatives, RBI officers, senior district officers and representatives from key financial institutions will help citizens identify, verify and process claims related to unclaimed assets. People have been encouraged through BLBC meetings, FLC outreach programmes and awareness drives conducted by banks and district authorities to attend these camps with valid identity proof and relevant supporting documents to check the status of their unclaimed financial assets and settlement thereof.
The Lead District Managers of Kupwara, Kathua, Kulgam and Doda have appealed to the general public to participate in these facilitation camps and make full use of this opportunity to identify, verify and recover unclaimed financial assets belonging to them or their family members.
