IC: Vikram Doraiswami appointed India’s next Ambassador to China
by GK NEWS SERVICE · Greater KashmirNew Delhi, Mar 19: Senior diplomat Vikram K Doraiswami has been appointed as India’s next Ambassador to the China, the Ministry of External Affairs announced on Thursday. Doraiswami, a 1992-batch Indian Foreign Service officer, is currently serving as India’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom. He is expected to take up his new assignment in Beijing shortly.
A seasoned diplomat with over three decades of experience, Doraiswami has previously served in key postings, including as Ambassador to Bangladesh and in senior roles at India’s missions in the United States and multilateral forums.
His appointment comes at a time when India and China continue to navigate relationship after complex bilateral ties, following tensions along the Line of Actual Control in recent years.
