Two arrested in Shopian under UAPA; incriminating posters recovered
by GK Web Desk · Greater KashmirShopian, Dec 20: Police have arrested two persons during a night operation in Heerpora area of south Kashmir’s Shopian district after recovering incriminating posters from their possession, sources said on Saturday.
A police sources said that a police party from Police Station Heerpora arrested the duo from Heerpora village during the night hours. During subsequent searches, posters were recovered, prompting the registration of a case, sources said.
Accordingly, FIR No. 73/2025 has been registered at Police Station Heerpora under Section 13 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), and further investigation is underway.
The arrested persons have been identified as Ahsan Ahmad Wagay, son of Mohammad Shafi Wagay, a resident of Yarikha in Kulgam district, and Rahil Ahmad Bhat, son of Mohammad Amin Bhat, a resident of Lasio Bonpora in Kulgam district, the sources added.—(KNC)
