JKCSF urges J-K govt to ensure equal partition, revival of JK house in Delhi - Greater Kashmir
by GK Web Desk · Greater KashmirSrinagar, Nov 12: The Jammu and Kashmir Civil Society Forum (JKCSF) Tuesday urged the J-K govt to ensure ‘judicious use of JK house in national capital Delhi.
In a statement forum’s chairman Abdul Qayoom Wani said, this historically significant establishment has long served as a vital resource for the people of Jammu and Kashmir, particularly for patients seeking medical treatment in Dehi.
It is disheartening to see that a significant portion of the house has been allocated to Ladakh while the remaining portion has been outsourced, eroding its cultural and functional value, Wani said.
He said, 70% posts at JK House are vacant which directly affect the patients and other dwellers who stay there for seeking treatment and other services.
JKCSF emphasizes the urgent need to restore the JK house’s former glory by preserving and promoting the unique cultural heritage, including Kashmiri cuisine and arts, which were once a hallmark of JK House, said the statement.
The government must ensure fair distribution, keeping the original purpose of the house in mind, read the statement.
It should primarily cater to the needs of patients and their attendants, while also serving as a hub for showcasing the rich traditions of Jammu and Kashmir, the statement urged the government.
