JKCA clubs raise concerns over electoral rolls ahead of elections

by · Greater Kashmir

Jammu, Dec 25: Several Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) clubs on Thursday expressed concerns over the preparation of electoral rolls for the upcoming JKCA elections, saying certain discrepancies need to be addressed to ensure the elections are conducted fairly and in accordance with the Association’s constitution.

As per a press statement issued, JKCA members grew concerned over the EO’s actions, which mirrored the sub-committee’s misconduct. Through counsel, members highlighted criminal acts like backdated orders from a ‘dubiously’ appointed ombudsman first revealed on November 12, 2025 and the resignation of subcommittee member Sunil Sethi, who protested these manipulations to alter club representation and sway elections.

Despite JKCA rules stating that court-authorised ombudsman orders prevail in club representative disputes, the EO’s draft roll includes individuals rejected by the Division Bench-appointed ombudsman while excluding those recognised by the court-appointed Committee of Administrators. Members’ attempts to meet the EO via counsel were ignored, allegedly enabling sub-committee defiance of the Supreme Court order and election tampering.
