Drug peddler held with contraband substance in Anantnag: Police

Srinagar, Feb 02: Jammu and Kashmir Police in Anantnag have achieved a significant success against drug trafficking during a naka checking operation at Nagdandi Crossing.

An official said that during checking, a person identified as Ishfaq Ahmad Malik, son of Ghulam Nabi Malik, resident of Sombruna, was apprehended. During search, charas powder-like substance weighing approximately 330 grams was recovered from his possession.

He said a case vide FIR No. 04/26 under relevant sections of law has been registered, and investigation has been initiated.

J&K Police reiterated its commitment to eradicate the menace of drug abuse and urged the general public to cooperate by sharing information related to drug trafficking.
