DSEK orders change in school timing - Greater Kashmir
by GK NEWS SERVICE · Greater KashmirSrinagar, Oct 31: The Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) Thursday ordered change in school timing for Kashmir division with effect from November-01.
The new timing has been fixed for the government and private recognised schools, following the approval of the administrative department.
As per the order, the DSEK said that the schools falling within Srinagar municipal limits shall have a school timing from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.
The order further reads that the educational institutes falling outside municipal limits of Srinagar and other areas of Kashmir province shall have timing of 10:30am to 03:30pm.
As already reported, the DSE put forth a proposal to the administrative department for change in the school timing from November 1 of 2024.
As per the policy in vogue, the timing of schools is fixed for summer and winter months respectively.
The winter timing for schools is fixed from November 1 till March 31 of next year. While the timing of schools during the summer season remains effective from April 1 to October 31.
Also, the timing of schools is occasionally changed in view of extreme heat wave. The timing is usually fixed from 8am to 1pm.
“All the concerned institutions must strictly adhere to order and instructions and any deviation in this regard will seriously,” the DSEK order reads.
