Toronto police say a woman was exiting the northbound Don Valley Parkway at Eglinton Avenue just after 4 p.m. on Sunday when “for unknown reasons,” she failed to make the right-hand turn and continued northbound, where she was struck by a vehicle heading eastbound.
The driver continued north, crossing the Eglinton Crosstown LRT tracks, before she was struck by a westbound vehicle before coming to rest at a construction fence.
The woman was taken to a trauma centre with life-threatening injuries, where she was later pronounced dead.
Police say a second person was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
