Arrest made after man allegedly stabbed while trying to stop Nottingham robbery
by Joshua Hartley · NottinghamshireLiveA teenager has been arrested after a man was allegedly stabbed while trying to stop a robbery in a Nottingham suburb. Police were called to Marmion Road, on the edge of Carlton and Thorneywood, at around 6.25pm on Sunday, October 27, over reports a teenager had been chased by a group of youths who were trying to rob him.
A man, who the teenager knew, was stabbed while trying to intervene in nearby Beecham Avenue. He remains in hospital where his condition is described as serious but stable, according to Nottinghamshire Police.
An 18-year-old man was arrested on Thursday, October 31, on suspicion of committing grievous bodily harm with intent. He remains in police custody.
Officers also arrested a 58-year-old woman on suspicion of aiding and abetting an offence and criminal damage. She has been bailed as investigations continue. Detective Sergeant Hannah Frame, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We know this incident caused concern in the neighbourhood so I’m pleased we can share this important update.
“Dedicated teams of officers have been working hard on the investigation by analysing CCTV footage, carrying out house-to-house inquiries and using all the other investigative tools at our disposal.
“Neighbourhood teams have also been deployed on additional patrols to support the community. A man remains in hospital having suffered a serious injury and it is still vital that anyone with information comes forward and shares it with officers.
"I'd urge anyone who witnessed the incident, or has any relevant CCTV, doorbell, mobile phone or dashcam footage, to get in touch with police.” Police have asked anyone with information to call 101, quoting incident number 562 of October 27, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
