“Mayor Giuliani is a fighter who has faced every challenge in his life with unwavering strength, and he’s fighting with that same level of strength as we speak,” spokesperson Ted Goodman wrote on X.

No details were provided about the cause of the 81-year-old’s hospitalisation.
Giuliani recently appeared on his online programme America’s Mayor Live, where he told viewers his “voice is a little under the weather, so I won’t be able to speak as loudly as I usually do.”
He was also seen coughing several times during the broadcast.
Messages of support quickly followed the announcement. Former Eric Adams wished Giuliani “strength, good health, and a full recovery,” saying the moment “rises above politics.”
Donald Trump also praised Giuliani on Truth Social, calling him a “true Warrior and the Best Mayor in the History of New York City.”
Giuliani became widely known for leading New York through the aftermath of the 11 September 2001 attacks, earning the nickname “America’s mayor.”
In recent years, he has faced several legal and financial challenges linked to efforts to overturn the 2020 US presidential election results.
