US Senate Democrats renew effort to block military action against Iran
by By The News Digital · The News InternationalUS Senator Chuck Schumer says Democrats will force another Senate vote this week in an attempt to halt President Donald Trump’s military involvement in Iran.

In a post on X, Schumer said: “The best way to lower costs and end this chaos is to end this illegal war: Democrats are forcing a seventh vote on our War Powers Resolution this week to withdraw US troops from hostilities with Iran.”
“If Republicans vote against our resolution, they will continue to bear the blame for Trump’s war.”
The War Powers Resolution was introduced to limit a president’s ability to engage in prolonged military conflict without approval from Congress after 60 days of hostilities.
Democrats have repeatedly attempted to block or limit US military operations linked to the Iran conflict in recent weeks.
However, most efforts have failed as votes in Congress largely followed party lines, with Republicans maintaining support for the administration’s position.
The latest push comes amid growing political tensions in Washington over the ongoing war and concerns about rising military and economic costs tied to the conflict.
