Trump claims 'wall of steel' in Hormuz keeps Iran in check as standoff drags on

President Donald Trump claimed on Wednesday the U.S. exercises "total control" over the Strait of Hormuz and says Washington may continue the blockade, hinting the easing of tensions is far from over.

In the fiery post, Trump made a flurry of claims that Iran has been unable to match or challenge the American forces, who he described as having become a "wall of steel," leaving Tehran grasping for straws.

"The U.S.A. has total control over the Strait of Hormuz. I THINK WE WILL KEEP IT! Our Naval Blockade is being called, by everyone, “A WALL OF STEEL,” and there is nothing Iran can do about it," he wrote.

Repeating his previous claim, Trump doubled down on his foe country has "no Navy or Air force" left after U.S. relentless strikes, which turned the situation allegedly so dire for Tehran that its remaining soliders are unpaid.

He continued, "They have no Navy, they have no Air Force, their remaining soldiers are unpaid."

Taking a swipe at the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Trump wrote, "The IRGC is decimated and fleeing, and their “Leadership” is uncertain, at best!"

Then, the president diverted attention to what he claimed was Iran's tottering economy that left its citizens impoverished amid skyrocketing inflation.

"They have No Money - Their country is “shot.” All they have is FAKE NEWS and 300% INFLATION, and getting worse!"

Before concluding, Trump penned, "Iran is all talk and no action, the Bully of the Middle East No Longer."

Trump's tweet comes a day after Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif said Iran and Pakistan are nearing a possible arrangement.
