US President Donald Trump has said he is in contact with both Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy as efforts continue to resolve the war in Ukraine.

Speaking to Fox News, Trump said: “We're working on the Russia situation, Russia and Ukraine, and hopefully we're going to get it.”

“I do have conversations with him, and I do have conversations with President Zelenskiy, and good conversations,” he said, but did not specify when the discussions took place.

Trump also highlighted tensions between the two leaders, saying: “The hatred between President Putin and President Zelenskiy is ridiculous. It's crazy. And hate is a bad thing. Hate is a bad thing when you're trying to settle something, but it'll happen.”

The comments come as the conflict, which began with Russia’s full scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, continues into another year.

Trump had previously pledged to end the war, though no agreement has yet been reached.

Officials have not confirmed details of any recent talks, and the situation on the ground remains uncertain.
