“We will soon hold our victory celebration, and the sanctions and pressures that have been imposed on the Iranian nation over recent years will be lifted with the great victory of the Iranian nation,” Press TV quoted Aref as saying.
The comments came as tensions continued in the Strait of Hormuz after Iranian and US forces exchanged fire earlier in the day.
Iran accused the United States of violating the ceasefire, while Washington insisted the truce remains in place.
US President Donald Trump warned that “we’ll knock them out a lot harder, and a lot more violently” if Iran does not agree to a deal soon.
Trump also told ABC News that the ceasefire remains active despite the latest military action. Speaking about the US strikes on Iranian targets, he described them as “just a love tap.”
