Tusil Fire in San Diego County grows rapidly as evacuation orders issued
by By The News Digital · The News InternationalA fast-moving brush fire in southeast San Diego County has prompted evacuation orders as crews battle flames spreading toward Interstate 8.
According to Cal Fire, the blaze, named the Tusil Fire, started near Crestwood Road and Old Mine Road in the Campo area.

Officials said the fire had burned 30 acres and was spreading at a “critical rate” with an “immediate structure threat”.
Large plumes of smoke could be seen from miles away as firefighters worked to contain the blaze.
Mandatory evacuation orders were issued for several zones.
Authorities warned residents to prepare for possible evacuation as the fire continued moving toward Interstate 8.
Cal Fire also reminded residents to prepare emergency go bags containing essentials such as non-perishable food, water, medications, extra clothing, important documents, first aid supplies and pet food.
The fire remains under investigation and crews continue monitoring conditions as strong fire behaviour threatens nearby communities.
