The ICC will hold two meetings, one virtual and one in-person. Mohsin Naqvi and two others won't be present in Ahmedabad.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman, Mohsin Naqvi, won’t attend the upcoming International Cricket Council (ICC) Chief Executives Committee (CEC) annual board of directors’ meetings in Ahmedabad. It was reported that Naqvi was invited for the meeting, taking place on the sidelines of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 final on May 30 and 31.

The report further stated that Naqvi, a Minister of Interior and Narcotics Control in Pakistan, will convene with Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif about travelling to India for the ICC meeting. However, according to PTI, Naqvi was never even invited.

The PCB chairman, along with two other members of other boards, will attend the meeting virtually on May 21. The ICC was already aware that Naqvi would not travel to India because of the strained relationship between the two nations, and the in-person meeting will be held in Ahmedabad.

Agenda of the meeting

The meeting was originally scheduled from March 25 to 27 in Doha, Qatar, but was postponed due to the West Asia conflict involving the USA, Israel, and Iran. The main agenda of the meeting was the global broadcasting rights, with the deal between ICC and JioStar ending in 2027.

“The meetings will bring together ICC Board Directors, Chief Executives, Committee Members and senior leadership as part of the organisation’s ongoing governance calendar, providing an important opportunity to deliberate over key matters pertaining to the present and future of the global game,” the ICC had said in a statement in February.
