Homicide investigation underway in Southcrest neighborhood

SAN DIEGO — Police are investigating a homicide in the Southcrest neighborhood of San Diego.

Officers were first called to the scene near 39th and Gamma streets around 11 p.m. Wednesday for reports of a shooting. When they arrived, they located a man with injuries. He was taken to a hospital where he later died.

KGTV has confirmed that no suspect is in custody as of early Thursday morning, and no additional details about the investigation have been released.

The investigation is ongoing.
