San Diego police respond to deputy shooting in Lakeside

A law enforcement shooting has been reported in the 9200 block of Briette Place in Lakeside, just north of Interstate 8 and west of Lake Jennings Park Road, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Office. The circumstances of the shooting, including whether it caused any injuries, are not immediately clear.

The sheriff's office told ABC 10News that the San Diego Police Department is the agency leading the investigation. SDPD says its homicide unit is responding to the scene.

Deputies said the shooting happened on Briette Place around 10:30 a.m.
