At least three to four suspected terrorists allegedly fired upon Indian Army vehicles in the Jogwan area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Akhnoor sector on Monday morning. As per media reports, no casualties happened in the firing, but the Indian Army has launched a massive search operation in the area in the Jammu region following the incident. 

At around 7:25 am today, terrorists reportedly fired 15-20 rounds on military vehicles, including an ambulance in the Battal area near the Shivassan temple in Jogwan.

The presence of the heavily armed terrorists was reported by the villagers near Assan temple in the Bhattal area of Khour. Officials said that a few gunshots were heard in the forward village when an Army ambulance was passing through.

The terrorists have also disfigured idols of deities in the Hassan temple in the area, according to a report by News18.

Army troops along with the police have cordoned off the village and adjoining areas and an operation is underway to trace and neutralize the terrorists who are believed to have infiltrated from across the border, the officials said.

Although no contact has been established with terrorists yet.
