A business jet carrying prominent Turkish businessman Hamdi Akın crashed while landing at Misrata Airport in Libya on Monday. Akın survived the crash, while the two pilots and a cabin crew member on board were also reported safe. The aircraft veered off the runway before catching fire, with airport emergency teams rescuing the crew and taking them to hospital.

The cause of the crash has not yet been established. Authorities are expected to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident, while flights in the area have reportedly been suspended.
