Srinagar Police Attach Drug-Traffickers’ Properties Worth Rs 3.34 Crore Under NDPS Act
by Northlines · NorthlinesSrinagar, Jul 17: In a major crackdown on drug trafficking under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan–100 Days Campaign, Srinagar Police has attached four immovable properties worth over Rs 3.34 crore under Section 68F of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985, targeting assets allegedly acquired through proceeds of the illegal drug trade.
According to an official spokesperson, the action was carried out by Police Station Safakadal during investigations into multiple NDPS cases. The attached properties were identified as illegally acquired assets linked to narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances.
The attached assets include a three-storey residential house at Nawakadal valued at Rs 1.19 crore, belonging to Adnan Lateef Sheikh, who is accused in FIR No. 74/2026 under Section 8/22 of the NDPS Act.
Police also attached a single-storey house at Palpora, Noorbagh worth Rs 1.18 crore, owned by Danyal Ahmad Bisati, an accused in FIR No. 24/2025 under Sections 8/20 and 29 of the NDPS Act.
Another property, a double-storey residential house at Barthana, Qammerwari valued at Rs 71.31 lakh, belonging to Shahid Gul, was attached in connection with FIR No. 48/2026 under Section 8/20 of the NDPS Act.
The fourth property, a single-storey house at Goripora worth Rs 25 lakh, belongs to Adil Ahmad Mir, who is accused in FIR No. 62/2025 registered under Sections 8/21 and 29 of the NDPS Act.
Police said all accused have been served attachment orders and are barred from selling, leasing, mortgaging, transferring, or creating any third-party interest in the attached properties without prior approval of the competent authority.
Describing the action as part of its sustained campaign against narcotics, Srinagar Police said it remains committed to dismantling the financial networks of drug traffickers by targeting illegally acquired assets. The police also appealed to the public to share information on drug-related activities through the nearest police station or the Police Helpline to help build a drug-free society.
