PM’s Response Insufficient, Won’t Leave Jantar Mantar Until Pradhan Resigns: CJP

New Delhi, July 23: The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) on Thursday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s announcement of fast-track courts to tackle paper leak cases was inadequate, reiterating its demand for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and vowing to continue its protest at Jantar Mantar.

Prime Minister Modi, in a post on X, announced the setting up of fast-track courts to ensure swift and stringent punishment for those involved in paper leaks, stating that “nothing is more important than the welfare and future of our youth.”

Reacting to the announcement, CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke shared an image of Pradhan with the caption, “Hi, my name is nothing,” while the party posted on X, “Dharmendra Pradhan Must Resign.”

CJP national spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka welcomed the Prime Minister’s response but said it came after nearly one-and-a-half months of protests and failed to address the root cause of repeated examination paper leaks.

He argued that punishing offenders after a leak occurs would not prevent future incidents, stressing that accountability within the system was the key issue. Ranka alleged that those responsible for administering the system lacked accountability and competence.

The CJP leader asserted that protesters would not leave Jantar Mantar until Pradhan resigned, claiming public anger was increasingly being directed at the Prime Minister over the issue.

The CJP-led agitation, which began on June 20, is seeking accountability for alleged irregularities in competitive examinations, reforms in the education system and the resignation of the Union Education Minister.

Climate activist Sonam Wangchuk, who joined the protest on June 28 and has been on an indefinite hunger strike since then, has offered to end his fast if the Centre assures that no punitive action or FIRs will be initiated against peaceful protesters who participated in the movement. (Agencies)
