New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested a Faridabad resident for harbouring terrorist Umar Un Nabi shortly before the November 10 Red Fort blast in New Delhi. The accused, identified as Soyab from Dhauj near Al Falah University, is the seventh person to be arrested in the case, the agency said.

According to the NIA, Soyab provided logistical support to Umar ahead of the car bombing that killed 13 people and injured several others. Umar was driving the explosives-laden Hyundai i20 in which the blast was triggered near a busy traffic crossing during peak evening hours.

Six other accomplices have already been arrested during the investigation. They include Dr Muzammil Shakeel Ganai of Pulwama, Dr Adeel Ahmed Rather of Anantnag, Dr Shaheen Saeed of Lucknow and Mufti Irfan Ahmad Wagay of Shopian. Two earlier arrests—Amir Rashid Ali, in whose name the vehicle was registered, and Jasir Bilal Wani alias Danish, who provided technical assistance—were also linked to the plot.

All accused are currently in NIA custody. The agency continues to pursue leads in the suicide bombing case, conducting coordinated searches across multiple states to identify and track additional suspects. Efforts to fully uncover the conspiracy behind the attack remain underway. (Agencies)
