Bomb Threat Emails Trigger Evacuations Across Multiple Amritsar Schools

Amritsar, Dec 12: Several schools in Amritsar received bomb threat emails on Friday, prompting immediate evacuation of students and rapid deployment of security teams. Panic-stricken parents rushed to campuses as the district administration ordered all schools in the city to close for the day.

Amritsar Commissioner of Police Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said suspicious emails were received by institutions across both urban and rural areas. A Gazetted Officer was deployed at each school while anti-sabotage teams conducted thorough checks. The Cyber Police Station has launched a high-priority probe to trace the source of the email, he added.

Bhullar urged the public to remain calm, noting that past investigations revealed some threats were sent as student “mischief.” In an earlier incident, a DAV Public School student who issued a bomb threat email was detained and later released after submitting a written apology along with his parents.
