Over 1.6 Lakh Students Applied for CBSE Post-Result Services

NEW DELHI, June 8: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Monday said more than 1.6 lakh candidates successfully applied for post-result services involving over 3.8 lakh answer books, asserting that its portal functioned smoothly throughout the notified application period.

In a statement, the board said the application window for verification and re-evaluation remained fully operational from June 2 to June 7 under the supervision of government technical agencies and teams from the IITs.

According to CBSE, the large number of successful applications reflects extensive utilisation of the post-result services by students across the country.

The board said the portal was continuously monitored by cybersecurity teams during the operational period to safeguard it against malicious traffic and cyber threats. It added that dedicated helpdesk and grievance redressal mechanisms were also available to assist students.

The clarification came in response to certain media reports and social media posts questioning the functioning of the Post-Result Services Portal.

Addressing concerns raised by some students and parents, CBSE explained that the message “Roll Number Not Found” appeared only for candidates who had not successfully applied during the first phase of the process, namely the Answer Books Photocopy Application Window.

The board reiterated that only candidates who had applied for scanned copies of their answer books in the initial stage were eligible to proceed to the verification and re-evaluation stages.

CBSE has recently faced scrutiny after some Class 12 students alleged that the scanned copies of their answer sheets uploaded by the board did not match their handwriting, raising concerns about possible discrepancies in the On-Screen Marking (OSM) system.

Amid the controversy, the Cabinet Secretariat last week announced the formation of a one-member committee to investigate the procurement of services related to the OSM system by the CBSE. (Agencies)
