22 JKAS Probationers get confirmation in Service

JAMMU Tawi, Sept 08: In a significant administrative development for officers of the Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service (JKAS), the General Administration Department (GAD) has formally confirmed the probation of 22 Junior Scale JKAS probationers belonging to the 2015, 2018, 2019 and 2020 batches.

The decision was issued through Government Order No. 1498-JK(GAD) of 2026, dated September 8, 2026, by the General Administration Department.

For the officers concerned, the order brings formal recognition of the satisfactory completion of their probation period. The government, while exercising relaxation of the relevant service rules, has ordered that the listed probationers shall be deemed to have completed their probation satisfactorily.

The confirmed officers include Iftakhar Ahmed from the 2015 batch and Anjum Bashir Khan Khattak from the 2018 batch. The remaining officers largely belong to the 2019 batch, along with an officer from the 2020 batch.

The order covers officers appointed through various government orders issued between 2015 and 2020. It cites the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1956, the Jammu and Kashmir Combined Competitive Services (Probation and Examination) Rules, 2000, and the Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service Rules, 2008.

From an employee’s perspective, confirmation after probation is an important service milestone. It provides formal recognition that the officer has satisfactorily completed the probationary requirements prescribed under the applicable service rules.

For the 22 JKAS probationers, the confirmation marks an important step forward in their administrative careers and formally closes the probationary phase of their service.
