J&K CM Given Guard of Honour as Civil Secretariat Reopens in Srinagar

Srinagar, May 4: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah was accorded a ceremonial Guard of Honour at the Civil Secretariat Srinagar on Monday as government offices resumed functioning in the summer capital.
The Chief Minister received a formal welcome from senior officials and administrative staff on his arrival at the Secretariat, marking the beginning of the government’s summer session in Srinagar.
The reopening of offices follows the seasonal shift of the administration from Jammu, a longstanding practice aimed at ensuring governance across both regions of the Union Territory.
Officials said all necessary arrangements have been put in place to ensure smooth functioning of departments. Security measures were tightened in and around the Secretariat premises for the occasion.
During his visit, the Chief Minister briefly reviewed the arrangements and interacted with officials, emphasizing efficient service delivery and coordination among departments.
