JKHCBAJ gets formally registered after 99 years of its inception
by Northlines · NorthlinesJammu Tawi: In a significant development, the J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu today got registered as a society with the Registrar of Society after 99 years of its existence. To celebrate its formal registration as a legal entity, a gala function was held today at the Bar Hall of the Jammu Wing of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.
On the occasion, the office bearers of the Association apprised the members of the association that the Bar Association has now been formally registered with the Registrar of Societies. This milestone marks a historic moment, coming after 99 years since the establishment of the Jammu & Kashmir High Court Bar Association. Over the decades, the Association has emerged as a strong and unwavering voice, consistently standing up for and safeguarding the interests of the legal fraternity of Jammu & Kashmir, and advocating for the people of the Jammu province.
The registration certificate was formally handed over to the office bearers of the Association by Neelam Khajuria, Joint Director, Registrar of Societies, Jammu, in the august presence of the Hon’ble Chief Justice Arun Palli, alongwith companion Judges of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh including Justice Sindhu Sharma, Justice Rajneesh Oswal, Justice Rahul Bharti, Justice Moksha Khajuria Kazmi, Justice Rajesh Sekhri, Justice Mohd. Yusaf Wani and Justice Shahzad Azeem.
The function witnessed an overwhelming participation of members of the Bar, including both senior and young advocates. The gathering, in one voice, appreciated the dedicated efforts of the Bar Association and its office bearers including President K. Nirmal Kotwal, Vice President S. Baldev Singh, General Secretary Pardeep Majotra, Joint Secretary Anshu Mahajan and Treasurer Rahul Aggarwal in achieving this long awaited and momentous registration.
The atmosphere during the event was marked by pride and collective satisfaction, as members acknowledged the importance of this development in strengthening the institutional framework of the Bar and furthering its legacy of service and representation.
President Kotwal on behalf of all office bearer of the association expressed his gratitude to the members for their continuous support and faith in his team and the works being carried out by them.
